PresidentThompson Acquisitions, LLC
Okay, so it's not a very good picture.
I'm Jim Thompson, Jr. I grew up in Vicksburg, Mississippi, went to St. Francis Xavier Academy for elementary school and graduated from St. Aloysius High School. Then it was on to LSU in Baton Rouge and Ole Miss in Oxford for more education. I moved to Fairhope, Alabama, in 1980 (check out both Vicksburg and Fairhope at this web site) and started a family. My kids, Trevor, Mandy, Taylor and Hunter are growing up fast, about as fast as I am growing old. I am proud of them. My hobbies include history, golf, photography, my kids' sports, LSU football and baseball, gardening and basketball, though not necessarily in that order. I love reading William Faulkner (deep), Tom Clancy (complicated) and Jeffrey Archer (light). Favorite TV show is "The Simpsons" (favorite quote from Bart: "I can't promise that I'll try, but I promise that I'll try to try" and from Mr. Burns: "Ah money, power, prestige. I'd give it all up for a little more."). I love to listen to Little Feat, John Hiatt (favorite line: "Well there's only two things in life, but I forget what they are."), the subdudes, Van Morrison, Vivaldi, Yo Yo Ma and a host of others. I have been in the land service business since 1980, and during that time I have seen first-hand the need to surround yourself with people who enjoy what they do, give dedicated service to their clients, and are constantly striving to improve and educate themselves. Fortunately, I have had such people work for and with me for many years. From different walks of life, we have learned together how to become better negotiators, how to work with computers and make them produce superior work product, and how to analyze and fix little problems before they become big ones. We've all walked down life's path together, and I am grateful to call them colleagues and friends. I've posted a resume on this site for you to view, if you're so inclined. It gives you an idea about my business life.
